From inspiring would-be adventurers, to demonstrating how lessons learned on expeditions can be can be applied in the business world, and interviewing celebrities on stage, Phoebe is passionate about public speaking.
A TedX speaker, she regularly talks in schools and presents at corporate conferences and events, as well as teaching travel writing workshops and seminars, appearing as guest lecturer on expedition cruises, moderating discussion panels, MCing events, and chairing discussions with authors, TV personalities and musicians, she is determined to make any event inspirational, motivational and perfectly tailored to the audience.
She’s spoken to sell-out crowds at TedX, 5x15, Kendal Mountain Festival, Countryfile Live, Cheltenham Literary Festival, Kew Gardens, Steve Backshall’s Wild Night Out, Bristol’s Wilderness Lectures, Explorers’ Connect, Night of Adventure, The Good Life Festival, Basecamp Festival, Explore at the RGS, Global Birdfair, Observa Ria in Portugal, Tales of Adventure, Stanford’s Travel Writing Festival, Borders Book Festival and more.
Between 2012-2018 she hosted Wanderlust’s World Guide Awards at the Royal Geographical Society in London alongside Bill Bryson.
She regularly runs a variety of Travel Writing, Blogging, Pitching and Filmmaking workshops including at the Adventure Travel Show and Destinations Holiday Show in Olympia and for years at the Adventure Travel Film Festival.
A particular passion is chairing events at literary festivals - from talking expeditions with Steve Backshall, to Antarctic history with historian Anne Strathie, adventure with Leo Houlding, Night Walking with Matthew Beaumont and cave exploration with hero of the Thailand cave rescue John Volanthen .

She’s also regularly inspires in primary and high schools around the UK (being both a Scouts Ambassador and Trustee and Expedition Leader at the #WeTwo Foundation she hold an enhanced DBS) as well as at Scouting events across the country.
She has been a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Presenter at St James’ Palace, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey on many occasions.
